One of CDA's most loved programs, The Junior Intensive builds a young dancer's confidence and skills with a fun variety of dance styles.

Children who might be attending summer school or other activities can enjoy this afternoon program that will keep them moving throughout the week!

 

Featuring the curriculum and methods which have established California DanceArts as a premier academy of dancing. Our expert instructors from our faculty provide students with new challenges while ensuring students understand the concepts and instruction in a nurturing environment.

Limited and exclusive enrollment ensures that California Dance Arts can offer each student personalized attention.

Our Junior Intensive program provides new challenges and opportunities for increasing technical and performance ability and is not to be missed by young dancers with aspirations and purpose. It is an equally important program for the potentially career focused dancer.

  • Curriculum based on a solid foundation of Classical & Contemporary Ballet. 

  • Alternate dance styles such as Jazz and Acro

  • Light stretching for improved flexibility and mobility

  • Creative methods to keep students excited about learning.

  • Mixed media such as ballet-related projects and crafts to enhance learning experience.

Placement Information

​

Students are placed based on age and experience. Placement

classes for the California Dance Arts Junior Intensive are held on 

Saturday mornings and can be attended live or over Zoom.

All in person, classes require participants to wear a mask and 

remain socially distanced from others. 

​

Qualifications & Placement

​

Students attain program placement by attending a placement class. Students from California DanceArts Levels Primary A, B & C may enroll without a placement class. We accept dancers based on a common level of ability. Most students at Division I are ages 6-10 and have already had some ballet training. 

​

Please RSVP for a spot in our placement class. Spaces in class are limited. Acessment Fee: $20

​

During the class, the dancer's qualifications for acceptance will be determined. All those wishing to participate must attend a class in person or over zoom. Dancers who have attended our intensive program in the past or are current students at California DanceArts gain first placement when enrolled by March 16th.

Placement Class Attire

​

Young Ladies: please wear proper ballet attire, hair up and off the face, and technique slippers. Bring Pointe shoes (as appropriate).

Young Gentleman: please wear clean white shirt, dance pants or tights, and ballet slippers.
