Los Angeles International Ballet Intensive provides new opportunities, growth and development for students passionate about dance, who are willing to have new creative experiences, who value discipline and are eager to work with our faculty of internationally renowned guest Instructors. Offering: Curriculum is based in Classical & Contemporary Ballet with specific instruction (at appropriate level) in Turns, Jumps, Pointe, Variations, Pas de duex and supplementary training in Conditioning and MPT (Placement Technique). See description of our Contemporary Ballet Program California DanceArts Contemporary Ballet Also offering Modern Dance and Dance Essentials for picking up choreography faster, improvisation, musicality and performance skills. New! An Aerial Ballet Workshop! Learn to fly and dance in the air, using silk scarves! Participating students will be exposed to a repertoire of classic and original choreography by Erin Holt, the Director of California DanceArts and California Contemporary Ballet. Learn new works by guest choreographers to be performed at the end of the intensive. An additional Choreography Workshop for dancers is offered for those who wish to create their own or dance the choreography of fellow students.

Please RSVP for a place in our class. Space in class is limited.
All those wishing to participate in either Intensive must audition in person or by Photo/ Video. Dancers who have attended our intensive program in the past or are current students at California DanceArts must audition to be considered for the program.

Ladies please wear proper ballet attire, hair up off face, technique slippers.
Bring Pointe shoes (as appropriate). Men please wear clean white shirt, dance pants
or tights, ballet slippers.
$20 Cash audition fee

Photo / Video Submission accepted from distant students or students with sufficient circumstances prohibiting attendance in person:

Limited selection to the program on first come basis.
Accommodations for out of town students must be reserved as soon as possible so we appreciate early submissions. Receve a 10% discount for early registration

Please submit dance photo or DVD with short list of skills and training.
DVD / Video: 10 minutes (maximum) showing work at barre and center.
Entire video should be performed en Pointe (as appropriate).

$30 cash/ check video and photo audition fee.

Qualifications
Participants auditioning for the Los Angeles International Ballet Intensive must be turning
12 years old by July 5th. Student should be on Pointe or nearing Pointe acceptance and capable of working along-side mature adult professionals.* All Accepted participants will be placed in one of several program levels of study for Intermediate & Advanced dancers with the Los Angeles International Ballet Intensive or our Youth Ballet Intensive. (Dancers must be able to work a full intense day 9:30am to 3:00pm with option to participate in additional show rehearsals and the Choreography Workshop until 5pm)

Deposit & Payment Deadlines
Space in our intensive programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and invited dancers must confirm their acceptance and secure their space by completing and returning their application forms with the required deposits.

The deadline to register for any of our summer intensive programs is April 15, 2010. This must include the required registrtaion fee and tuition deposit . The balance of tuition amount is due by May 15, 2010.

Special discounts available through March 27
Dancers who attend our audition class, whom are accepted into our program and register by our early registration date, qualify for a 10% tuition discount. Returning students who enroll by the early registration date will recieve a 15% discount. All students must enroll with registration fee and deposit by the early registration date of March 27 to recieve discounts. Ask about our professional discount for working dancers when enrolled by this date.

Saturday Spotlight Master Classes These special master classes are included
for those dancers participating in the intensive program. The classes are open
to all intermediate and advanced level ballet dancers with additional $30
charge. These master classes are conducted by a new guest teacher each week

Los Angeles Weekend Excursions: Join Sunday group excursions to popular Los Angeles and Hollywood sightseeing locations. Based on the interest of students attending the program, we can arrange a new excursion each weekend. Out of town guests might enjoy trips to popular theme parks such as Disneyland, Magic Mountain or Universal Studios. Venture into the city and walk down famous Hollywood Blvd, catch a show at one of our grand theaters, go body surfing or enjoy a relaxing sunbath on our beautiful beaches. Our excursions may be arranged with guide and transportation. Older adult students may venture out on their own with rented or city transportation. We will provide site maps and information regarding locations, city transportation and tourist fees. (Fees to various theme parks, theaters, shopping or city transportation are not included with program).
